Iranian officials heading to Cannes Film Festival

TEHRAN -- Iranian cinematic officials will be attending the Cannes Film Festival, which is being held from May 11 to 22.
A delegation of Iranian cinematic officials, headed by Farabi Cinematic Foundation Deputy Director Hassan Najjarian, will be attending the festival.However, no Iranian film is being screened in the competition section of this year’s Cannes festival.
Iranian Deputy Culture Minister for Cinematic Affairs Javad Shamaqdari, Iranian Young Cinema Society Director Hashem Mirzakhani, Farabi Cinematic Foundation Director Ahmad Mir-Alaii, Documentary and Experimental Film Center Director Shafi Aqamohammadian, and Public Relations Office of the Art Bureau Director Habib Ilbeigi will be part of the delegation.
Iran’s House of Cinema cannot attend the Cannes Film Market due to financial problems and the House of Cinema Managing Director Mohammad-Mehdi Asgarpur will only attend a press conference at the festival.
The Documentary and Experimental Film Center, the Art Bureau, the Farabi Cinematic Foundation, the Filmiran Institute, the Arya Sanat-Takhayyol Company, and the Zendegi International Film Distribution Company will be offering their movies at the Cannes Film Market.
